
PA Day Camp 2021-2022 School Year
Gymalaya Vaughan offers PA Day camps during the 2021-2022 school year (YRDSB). Camp this year will look different to accommodate all the new guidelines and protocols. Therefore, camp is open for children ages 6-10 (5 year olds may attend if accompanied by an older sibling).
Gymalaya is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all our employees and customers. In order to provide the highest level of safety, we have developed a COVID-19 Safety Plan. The recommendations from the York Region Public Health and the Ministry of Health are constantly changing due to the evolving COVID-19 situation. We are committed to monitoring these changes and adapting our safety protocols as neededImportant guidelines we will be upholding:
- Drop off is available from 8:50AM – 9:10AM
- All campers must be dropped off by 9:10AM as the doors will be locked at 9:10AM
- No individual other than staff and campers will be permitted to enter the Gymalaya facility
- A screening station will be located at entrance
- Pick up time is between 2:50PM – 3:00PM
- Parents and guardians must wait in their cars until it is time for pick up
- Campers and staff must complete a COVID-19 Screening Assessment prior to entering the facility
- Campers and staff will submit to a temperature scan prior to entering the facility
- Anyone with a temperature reading of 37.8C (100.04F) or greater will not be permitted to enter the facility
- Anyone with any cold or flu like symptoms will not be permitted to enter the facility.
- Your child will be asked to sanitize their hands before entering the facility
- Attendance will be recorded
- Each cohort (group) is limited to 8 kids and 1-2 staff members
- Cohorts will be segregated in separate areas of the facility and there will be no intermixing between cohorts throughout the day
- Siblings will be placed in the same cohort regardless of age
- Physical distancing will be maintained by limiting the number of campers in our facility
- Appropriate signage and markers have been placed throughout the facility to remind everyone to maintain physical distancing
- Masks are mandatory to enter the facility and may be removed only for physical activity and eating
- Coaches will wear a mask at all times
- Activities and skills have been modified to allow physical distancing
- Children will have supervised breaks for hand washing throughout the day
- Campers will sanitize their hands before moving to the next station
- There are hand sanitizing stations throughout the facility for the campers and staff to use throughout the day
- There will be one lunch and two snack breaks
- There will be no intermixing between cohorts at that time
- All campers must bring their food and drinks from home and will not be allowed to share
- Gymalaya is a nut aware facility. Please do not send any food items containing nuts and/or peanuts
- After each day of camp the facility will be sanitized using a fogging machine with Vital Oxide disinfectant
- All mats and equipment will be cleaned several times during the day
- Bathroom, door handles and high-volume touch surfaces will be cleaned throughout the day
- All campers must understand the rules of physical distancing prior to sign up. If a child cannot follow the proper procedures and therefore compromising the safety of other campers and staff members, they will be unable to participate in camp
- There will be a strict zero tolerance and no exceptions will be made
- The camper will be sent home and there will be no refund given
- All camp fees are non-refundable
- Due to the limited number of participants for each camp week, there will be no refund or credit (make ups) for missed sessions or days
- In case there’s a mandatory shut-down or outbreak and we need to close, a full refund will be provided
